Encourage Child Readers with an Online Log

Books are hugely important to me. I am an avid reader and my dream is for my sons to love books as much as I do. I read to my boys as often as I can. If they ask me to read to them, I stop whatever I am doing to read. No matter what, they know if they want me to read, I will read. My husband and I read to our kids before bed EVERY night. It is such a satisfying routine and I hope it will be a routine that will last a life time. My oldest… » Continue Reading

Fall Tissue Paper Tree Craft for Kids

Fall Tissue Paper Tree Craft

My favourite season has rolled around again. I love everything about fall. The trees are just beginning to change colour here in Quebec and it has inspired a fun craft for my son. My 4 year old son just broke his arm on the weekend jumping on the trampoline with friends so I wanted to come up with an activity he could do using only his left hand. It took a bit of trial and error but he was able to create a beautiful fall tissue paper craft to hang in the entrance to our house. It was a beautiful… » Continue Reading

River Fun with the Boys

River Fun with the Boys!

There is a heat wave going on right now where we live. Super sunny, hot and humid. The only way to stay cool is to stay inside or find some water to play in. I am not one to stay inside all day so we hit the water. Yesterday, the boys spent 5 hours in my friend’s pool. They had fun, had exercise and kept out of the heat. I wanted to go on a different adventure today so we headed to a river very close to our home with our Golden Retriever, Gunner.       The river is… » Continue Reading

Alphabet Dino Chomp Game for Kids

Alphabet Dino Chomp Game

I came up with this Alphabet Dino Chomp Game for Kids just yesterday. I was tidying my boys’ rooms and game across their toy dinosaur. You can open and close the dinosaur’s mouth by pushing a lever on it’s tail. It dawned on me that they would love using this toy and we could create a fun learning game at the same time. Alphabet Dino Chomp Game was born!     Materials: Large… » Continue Reading

FROG Life Cycle Sensory Bin

Frog Life Cycle Sensory Bin

I love creating sensory bins for my kids. It is so much fun to think of interesting scenes and textures and combining everything into a bin. My boys get so excited when presented with a new sensory bin. It always grabs their attention above all other things, even TV! They love to dive right in and start moving the materials around to their liking. I always make two similar bins, one for each of my boys so they can have control over their own little worlds. Sometimes they decide to combine the two tubs into one to have even… » Continue Reading

Cribbage Preschool Counting Game

This Cribbage Preschool Counting Game came about one day while my mother was visiting. She and I were playing a regular game of crib when my boys asked what we were doing and wanted to play too.
