RUN 5 miles (8km) TIME 56 minutes (PACE 11:09 minute/mile) – Burnt 597 calories

Hilly run in the country back roads with my best friend. We were both exhausted and did not feel like doing the 8kms that was on the schedule. We pushed through and kept at it though. Got back right at dark and felt very accomplished. I love the feeling after completing a run you really didn’t want to do. I forgot to bring my camera and was really bummed because the sunset was beautiful.

RUN 6.25 miles (10km) TIME 1:14 (PACE 11:50 minute/mile) – Burnt 716 calories

First time EVER running 10km on my treadmill! There was snow, ice and floods in my town this day. No way could I get out to run but I wasn’t going to let Mother Nature ruin my training. I knew I was leaving the next day for the long Easter weekend and had to get my long slow run in. So I put in my earphones and got it done. I felt very proud to discover I could run for over an hour on the treadmill without going bananas.

I've never seen those numbers on the 'mill before!

RUN 3.73 miles (6kms) TIME 42 minutes (PACE 11:15 minute/mile) – Burnt 446 calories

I brought my running gear hoping I would be able to convince someone in my family to come with me. I was so happy that my sister decided to bike along side me and my aunt came out to run as well. It was awesome to explore and chat with them while enjoying the beautiful sunshine and fresh air. I hope they continue to go together because if I lived there we would be going out every weekend.

8 hour car ride = no exercise

15 miles (24kms) RAN

no cross-training

Only 3 runs this week and no cross-training. Not a great training week, mileage or time wise but I am still very happy with this week’s training for mentally overcoming obstacles. I ran 8km when I had no energy or motivation to go, I did not let the horrible weather stop me from running and did 10km on the treadmill for the first time and while on holiday, I convinced my family to come out with me and got another 6km in. Not bad for Easter weekend when I was away from home for 4 days of the week.

I need to ramp it up this week with more runs and definitely a day or two of cross training.

How did your week go?

Have you ever been very proud of overcoming a mental running obstacle rather than a psychical one?

Link up your workout/running summaries below!

I’ll make sure to come check it out.

  1. Three runs are better than no runs! Great job on those runs! I think my biggest problem is overcoming my mental obstacles. I need to push myself harder because I give up easily :) I didn’t do any cross training last week either. I decided to take a one week break from crossfit so I could add more mileage.

    Have a great week!
